Entertaiment is a versatile form of amusement that can involve anything from watching a film or concert to playing games or social interaction. It can have serious purposes – such as ceremonial and religious events or satire – but the most familiar form is that of entertainment for pleasure, such as a play, poem, or story. A famous example is Scheherazade, a tale from the Persian professional storytelling tradition that inspired composers Rimsky-Korsakov, Ravel and Szymanowski; the director Pasolini made a film version; and there are innovative video games.
